Focus3 Overview
Passwords
- A password is a string of characters that a User must enter to access Focus3.
- Focus3 passwords are case sensitive and must be 6 to 20 characters and require at least one number, one lowercase letter, and one uppercase letter.
- Keep your password secure! If your Focus3 account User ID and Password is obtained by someone else, they may log in and view, add, edit or delete your data.
- As a security measure, default Focus3 passwords are generated automatically and stored in the database as encrypted strings. User passwords are not visible and may not be retrieved. An Administrator must reset account passwords if they are forgotten.
- Your Focus3 account password is confidential. Do not give anyone else your password.
- Do not write your password down. If you must write it down, keep it locked away in a place only you can access.
- Good passwords are unique, difficult to guess, at least 6 characters long, and are made up of both lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Some web browsers and operating systems allow users to store account passwords. We discourage anyone from automatically storing his or her password, since this allows other people to easy access to your Focus3 account.
- Anyone with an active account may access Focus3 from anywhere on the Internet.
- When an Employee leaves your Company, immediately make sure their Focus3 account is deactivated. It is also recommended that the passwords of those who worked closely with the Employee, if not the entire staff, be changed.
- Employee passwords should be changed routinely as a security precaution.
- When a new Focus3 user is added, his or her account information, including a system-generated password, is emailed to their assigned email address.
- If someone forgets their password, they should contact their Administrator and request their password be reset.
